Research-based: how we put this guide together. We haven’t used these products. This guide is based on manufacturer pages checked on October 10, 2026, linked inline and again in Sources. It is not a hands-on review. If a page does not state a spec, we leave it out. Prices change, so check the product page before you buy.
An air-pulse toy is sold as external stimulation from a head that sits over the clitoris and moves air. A vibrator shakes. Those are different mechanisms on the spec sheet, not different medical outcomes. This page does not rank one as better.
If you are still choosing among bullets, rabbits, and wands, start with how to choose your first vibrator. That guide mentions sonic toys only in passing. This one stays on air-pulse products whose makers describe a contactless or pressure-wave head.
Short answer: Read how the brand says the head works, then compare intensity steps, head fit, a noise number only when one is printed, and the waterproof rating as that brand states it. App control is optional. The four toys below illustrate those differences. They are not a ranking.
Quick picks at a glance
Published-spec illustrations, not products we have tried, and not a complete shelf.

What the brands say the toy does
Womanizer calls the method Pleasure Air and says the clitoris is stimulated without direct contact. The FAQ says the head encircles the clitoris and pulses air in and out without touching it (Premium 2; FAQ). We-Vibe says Melt’s Pleasure Air “surrounds the clitoris with pulsating waves and gentle suction, without touching it” (We-Vibe). Satisfyer describes Air-Pulse pressure waves without direct contact (Satisfyer).
Lovense sells Tenera 2 with PulseSense. The page gives two different pulse-rate figures in different places, so we don’t state one (Lovense). Tenera 2 on Lovense’s site: Visit Lovense's official site (paid link, opens in a new tab)
Womanizer’s FAQ says not to use the toy for more than 15 minutes, and to stop if there is pain. It mentions a pacemaker warning, and says to consult a doctor if you are pregnant, have recently given birth, have a skin disease, or have an allergy (Womanizer FAQ). That limit is Womanizer’s. The other pages here did not print it, so we do not copy it onto them.
Fit and intensity steps
The number of steps is not a shared unit of pressure. Premium 2 lists 14 levels. The box includes two stimulator head sizes, a USB cable, a quick-start guide, safety instructions, and a cotton pouch. An AC adaptor is not included. Listed colors are Black, Bordeaux, Gray, Blueberry, and Raspberry (Womanizer). The FAQ says most Womanizer products use S, M, and L heads, that a larger head is the suggestion if the feeling is too intense or the fit is poor, and that a smaller head is for more intensity (Womanizer FAQ). Premium 2 says two sizes are in the box. Womanizer doesn’t say which two of its sizes they are; check the box contents.
Melt lists 12 levels. We-Vibe says to place the head so it encloses the clitoris, and that the toy is designed to fit between partners (We-Vibe). Partnered toys are covered in couples toys for beginners.
Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 2 lists 11 intensities. The use notes say full contact, a gentle start, and holding still, and that too much pressure reduces the sensation. The page says the toy may not suit clitorises enlarged by hormonal treatments (Satisfyer). That is Satisfyer’s fit note.
Tenera 2 describes unlimited suction patterns, up to 10 saved on the toy, and a larger app library (Lovense). None of these makers list an opening size; check the manual. We do not guess one.
Noise, only when a number exists
Tenera 2 is the only toy here with a decibel figure on the product page: a maximum of 43 dB. Lovense’s graphic on that page puts light rain at 40 dB and conversation at 55 dB (Lovense).
We-Vibe calls Melt “Whisper Quiet” and prints no decibel number (We-Vibe). Satisfyer mentions a “whisper mode” and also prints no number (Satisfyer). For how to read quiet-toy claims, see quiet vibrators. That comparison is about vibrators. Do not paste it onto an air-pulse toy that never published a decibel level.
Water, battery, and the app
Premium 2, Melt, Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 2, and Tenera 2 are each listed as IPX7. Lovense’s hardware FAQs (for example Hush 2) define IPX7 as submersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. That definition is Lovense’s wording. We do not attach it to the other brands unless their page says the same thing. Womanizer’s FAQ lists Premium among IPX7 models and says other Womanizer toys are splash-proof, so check the manual before submerging those (Womanizer FAQ). Our waterproof vibrators guide is the longer note on IP codes.
Lovense also says Bluetooth is not stable in or under water (Lovense). If remote features are the reason to buy, see app-controlled toys and Lovense vs We-Vibe.
Premium 2: up to 240 minutes, 120 minutes to charge, 141.4 g, 155 × 50 × 35 mm, a 5-year warranty, and a 100-day Pleasure Guarantee on the page (Womanizer). Read what that guarantee pays there. This page does not describe an app, so we do not invent one.
Melt: up to 2 hours, 90 minutes to charge, a USB rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, and a 2-year warranty. The app can set standby of 4 hours. Dimensions are printed as 126 × 24 × 10 mm (We-Vibe). We report that thin third figure as printed. Color names differ on the page: Peach Pink and Midnight Blue, and also Pink and Midnight Blue.
Satisfyer lists 6.5 in / 165 mm by 1.8 in / 46 mm by 2.6 in / 65 mm, and 6.1 oz / 174.7 g. The battery is lithium-ion, the warranty line is 15 years, and a USB magnetic cable is included. The US page does not state runtime or charge time (Satisfyer).
Lovense’s Tenera 2 page lists about 71 minutes to charge, up to 96 minutes of use, and a weight of 105.6 g. Warranty text appears as “1-Year Warranty” and, in the FAQ, “1-Year Warranty + 10-Year Quality Guarantee” (Lovense).
Material, lubricant, and cleaning
Premium 2’s head is body-safe silicone, made without phthalates, BPA, or latex (Womanizer). The FAQ says silicone lubricant can damage the medical-grade silicone head, and tells you to use water-based lubricant (Womanizer FAQ).
Melt is body-safe silicone, also without phthalates, BPA, or latex. The box includes a 2 ml sample of We-Vibe lubricant by pjur, a magnetic USB cable, a quick-start guide, and a storage bag (We-Vibe). We-Vibe doesn’t list the sample’s base in the spec list. Read the label.
Satisfyer lists a medical-grade silicone head, ABS plastic and silicone, and says to put water-based lubricant on the rim (Satisfyer). Tenera 2’s exterior is “100% pure body-safe silicone.” On that page Lovense also says all Lovense products are body-safe and that none contain phthalates or other harmful chemicals (Lovense). That brand sentence does not name the internal frame.
See body-safe materials and how to choose lubricant. Lovense says not to boil Tenera 2, because the battery may explode or leak (Lovense). Our cleaning guide is the general method.
What we are not ranking
Runtime, warranty years, and pulse counts are not a score we add up. Each toy above is missing a different fact: a decibel number, a runtime, an app, or a single agreed charge time. We do not list prices. They were on the pages on October 10, 2026, and they move.
A short checklist
- The page says how the head works, in the brand’s words.
- Noise is a decibel number or a word without one. Tenera 2 is the only number in this set.
- The water rating is copied from that product. Bluetooth in water is a separate line.
- Runtime is present, or you have noticed that it is missing, and two figures on one page stay a conflict.
- You have not planned to boil a battery toy.
FAQ
How is an air-pulse toy different from a vibrator?
On these pages, the head moves air or pressure waves around the clitoris rather than vibrating against it. Womanizer, We-Vibe, and Satisfyer each say the mechanism does not touch the clitoris directly. Whether you prefer that is a fit question. The first-vibrator guide covers motor-driven toys.
Do more intensity levels mean a stronger toy?
No. Fourteen levels on Premium 2, twelve on Melt, and eleven on Satisfyer are counts of settings. The pages do not publish one shared unit of pressure.
Which of these is quietest?
Only Tenera 2 prints a maximum: 43 dB, with Lovense’s comparison to rain and conversation. Melt and Satisfyer use “whisper” language without a number. We do not invent the missing numbers.
Can I submerge them?
Each of the four is listed as IPX7 by its maker. Only Lovense, in its hardware FAQs, spells that out as up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, and Lovense says Bluetooth is not stable in or under water. Womanizer puts Premium on its IPX7 list and tells you to check the manual before submerging models it calls only splash-proof.
Which lubricant should I use?
Womanizer says water-based, and says silicone lubricant can damage the silicone head. Satisfyer’s notes say water-based lubricant on the rim. That matches the usual silicone-toy advice in our lubricant guide.
Do I need the app?
Only if you want features that live in an app. Tenera 2 and Melt advertise one. The Premium 2 page does not. Satisfyer’s US page doesn’t list app control.
